Cloudflare, Inc. has announced the launch of new Zero Trust AI security tools within its Cloudflare One platform. The new capabilities are designed to help organizations securely adopt, monitor, and scale generative AI applications while protecting sensitive data from misuse.
With AI adoption growing rapidly across industries, employees are increasingly leveraging AI for tasks in finance, marketing, engineering, and product design. However, this surge has also given rise to Shadow AI risks—where employees use unapproved AI tools, exposing enterprises to data leaks, compliance breaches, and privacy violations. Cloudflare’s latest innovations address this by combining Zero Trust security with advanced AI monitoring and control.
Cloudflare has introduced AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) to empower enterprises with full visibility and control over AI usage across their networks:
- AI Discovery & Shadow AI Reports: Organizations can now track exactly how employees are using AI—what apps are being accessed, and how data is being shared—providing actionable insights into AI adoption trends.
- AI Policy Enforcement at the Edge: Through Cloudflare Gateway, businesses can block unapproved AI apps, restrict risky data uploads, and apply consistent policies across global teams.
- AI Prompt Protection: Security teams can detect risky AI interactions, flag sensitive prompts, and prevent the leakage of critical information such as source code or customer data to untrusted AI providers.
- Zero Trust MCP Server Control: All AI model tool calls (MCP requests) are consolidated into a centralized dashboard, allowing administrators to enforce user-level access policies for maximum visibility and governance.
Enabling Secure AI Transformation at Scale
“Cloudflare is the best place to help any business roll out AI securely. We combine the security of a Zero Trust platform with a full set of AI and inference development products—helping the world’s most innovative companies adopt AI quickly, safely, and at scale,” said Matthew Prince, CEO and co-founder of Cloudflare.
By integrating AI observability, data protection, and Zero Trust security, Cloudflare is enabling enterprises to accelerate digital transformation, AI innovation, and compliance-readiness. With these capabilities, businesses can empower teams to use AI tools productively while eliminating the risks of Shadow AI, data breaches, and unauthorized access.
