Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, will arrive in India on Tuesday for his first official two-day visit. He is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of the UAE. Along with him, several UAE ministers, senior officials, and a large group of business leaders will join the trip.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a special working lunch for him on Tuesday. Sheikh Hamdan will also meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. After his meetings in Delhi, the Crown Prince will travel to Mumbai to attend a business roundtable with top business leaders from India and the UAE. The focus of the visit is to strengthen trade and cooperation, especially in traditional industries and future technologies.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said Dubai plays a key role in India-UAE trade and cultural ties. Out of the 4.3 million Indians living in the UAE, many are based in Dubai. Earlier this year, during his visit to the UAE in January, Minister Jaishankar invited the Crown Prince to India—an invitation that helped further deepen the friendship between the two countries.
