Twelve Industry Leaders Now Deliver Free Education Through a Collaborative Platform Addressing the AV-IT Skills Gap.

NETGEAR has expanded the NETGEAR Academy (academy.netgear.com), which now features free training content from twelve leading AV and broadcast technology manufacturers. The platform has evolved into one of the industry’s most comprehensive and accessible sources of AV-over-IP professional education.

Asia Pacific’s AV and broadcast markets are undergoing rapid transformation as enterprises, educational institutions, government agencies, and live production organisations accelerate their migration to IP-based infrastructure. However, a persistent skills shortage—particularly in AV-over-IP networking—continues to challenge system integrators, IT teams, and managed service providers across the region.

NETGEAR Academy’s collaborative model is designed to address this gap. Rather than offering siloed, manufacturer-specific certification paths, the platform provides a unified learning environment that enables professionals to build complementary expertise across the full AV-IT stack. Courses from NETGEAR and its ecosystem partners span networking fundamentals, AV-over-IP protocols, system configuration, troubleshooting, and practical deployment strategies grounded in real-world scenarios.

What distinguishes NETGEAR Academy from conventional manufacturer training is its deliberately vendor-agnostic structure. Third-party course content is presented alongside NETGEAR’s own curriculum, allowing learners to gain a holistic understanding of how diverse technologies, products, and methodologies interoperate in live deployments, regardless of which brands are specified in a project.

The platform holds accreditation from AVIXA, enabling learners to earn Renewal Units (RUs) toward both CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) and ANP (AV Networking Professional) certifications.

Gus Marcondes, Global Training Manager at NETGEAR Enterprise, commented, “Asia Pacific is one of the fastest-growing markets for AV-over-IP, and demand for skilled professionals continues to outpace supply. NETGEAR Academy was built on the belief that the AV industry thrives when knowledge is shared across the ecosystem. By offering free training across the full AV-over-IP landscape—including a growing roster of third-party manufacturers—we are equipping integrators, IT teams, and broadcast engineers in APAC with the end-to-end education required to deploy and manage modern AV systems confidently.”

NETGEAR Academy’s Third-Party Manufacturer Training Program now brings together content from twelve leading industry players on a single, no-cost platform. These include Allen & Heath, AVB Academy, Crestron, Audinate (Dante), Lightware, MuxLab, NDI, Powersoft, PTZOptics, Q-SYS, SDVoE Alliance, and Sennheiser.

All training content is available on demand at no cost and can be accessed anytime and anywhere, removing traditional barriers to professional development for AV and IT practitioners across the region. By unifying the ecosystem under a single learning platform, NETGEAR Academy supports workforce development while strengthening the technical foundation required for the continued growth of IP-based AV deployments.
