Opera Neon Rolls Out One-Minute Deep Research Mode, Google Docs Integration, and New AI Features

Opera has upgraded its AI-powered Opera Neon browser with a new one-minute Deep Research mode, Google Docs integration, and enhanced AI model selection for Neon Chat—bringing faster research, better productivity, and richer AI capabilities to users. According to media reports, the new quick Deep Research feature offers compact, high-quality research summaries in under a minute, making it ideal for users who need rapid insights without waiting for a full research session.

The updated one-minute research mode is a streamlined version of Opera’s original ODRA (Opera Deep Research Agent) introduced last October. Opera explained that this faster mode works by dividing tasks among multiple AI “researchers,” allowing the browser to deliver efficient and meaningful results much quicker. This bridges the gap between a simple AI query and a full-scale deep research process—perfect for users who need more than a typical AI response but less than a comprehensive report.

In addition to faster AI research, Opera Neon now integrates directly with Google Docs, dramatically boosting productivity and workflow efficiency. Users can create a new Google Doc by selecting the Neon “Do” agent through the omnibox and specifying their request. They can also edit existing documents—adding or removing content, inserting data from web sources, or even renaming files—without leaving the browser. This makes Opera Neon a more powerful tool for students, professionals, and content creators who rely on Google Workspace.

The update also introduces a new AI model selector within Neon Chat, giving users more control over the AI model they prefer to use for conversations, writing, or research tasks. With these enhancements—faster AI research, seamless document editing, and advanced model selection—Opera Neon continues positioning itself as one of the most innovative AI-driven browsers focused on productivity, research, and next-generation browsing experiences.
