Realme GT 8 Pro to Launch on November 20 With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Modular Ricoh-Tuned Camera System

Realme is set to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 8 Pro, in India on November 20, marking one of the company’s most anticipated premium releases of the year. Ahead of the official announcement, Realme has confirmed several key specifications, including a customisable modular camera design, a top-tier Qualcomm processor, and a high-brightness 2K display.

The Realme GT 8 Pro first debuted in China in October, and the Indian model is expected to share the same core hardware and performance features. At the heart of the smartphone is the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring flagship-grade speed, multitasking efficiency, and high-end gaming performance. The device will be offered in Diary White and Urban Blue colour options.

Realme has confirmed that the GT 8 Pro will feature a 2K resolution display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, along with an astonishing 7,000 nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest smartphone displays to date. The device will run Realme UI 7 based on Android 16, offering an updated software experience.

The smartphone will pack a large 7,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast wired charging, which the company claims can handle up to 21.3 hours of YouTube playback or over 7.6 hours of gaming (BGMI) on a single charge. Additionally, the device will come with IP69-rated protection, making it resistant to dust, splashes, and high-pressure water exposure.

One of the standout features of the Realme GT 8 Pro is its modular camera island design, a first for Realme. The camera housing is built with magnetic locking and Torx screw support, allowing users to swap camera plate designs for a personalized look. Teaser renders suggest both square and rounded camera module styles may be available at launch.

The camera system itself has been co-engineered with Japanese imaging brand Ricoh, similar to the partnership strategy seen in premium camera-centric smartphones. Based on the Chinese variant, the Realme GT 8 Pro is expected to include a 50MP Ricoh-tuned main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, the phone is likely to feature a 32MP front-facing camera. The device is also expected to support 8K video recording at 30fps, appealing to content creators and photography enthusiasts.

With its flagship-grade performance, innovative modular design, custom-tuned camera hardware, and long battery life, the Realme GT 8 Pro is positioned to compete strongly in the premium smartphone market segment as it enters the Indian market.
