The service aims to Accelerate Petabyte-Scale AI Data Transfers on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Riverbed has announced the launch of the Riverbed Data Express Service, a new SaaS platform designed to significantly speed up large-scale AI data movement across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The service accelerates the transfer of petabyte-scale datasets up to 10x faster than traditional data migration solutions, enabling enterprises to deploy and scale AI models more efficiently while improving time-to-value and reducing operational costs.
As organizations race to build and train large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI systems, they are increasingly challenged by the complexity of moving massive data volumes stored across data centers, edge environments, and public cloud platforms. Traditional data transfer methods can take weeks or even months, slowing AI development and increasing GPU compute costs.
The Riverbed Data Express Service solves this by enabling near real-time, high-speed data transfer to AI-optimized GPU clusters, allowing AI projects that once required months of preparation to be completed in days.
Built for Secure, High-Performance AI Data Movement
The new service is powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and uses post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to secure data in motion. Data is transferred through encrypted VPN tunnels with integrated enterprise access controls to protect private and sensitive datasets. Organizations also have the option to deploy data mover agents within their own cloud tenants for enhanced security and data governance.

Demand for AI Data Mobility Is Rising Globally
Riverbed’s 2025 Global AI Research Study, which surveyed 1,200 business and IT leaders across seven countries, found that:
