Riverbed Launches Saudi-Hosted Aternity Cloud

The company opens Regional HQ in Riyadh to Boost AI-Powered Observability.

Riverbed has announced the launch of its Saudi Arabia–hosted Riverbed Aternity Cloud, becoming the first technology provider in the Kingdom to offer a SaaS-based observability platform with built-in AI capabilities fully compliant with KSA data sovereignty and national cybersecurity mandates.

The milestone release reinforces Riverbed’s long-term investment in Saudi Arabia as it officially established its Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Regional Headquarters in Riyadh, led by a dedicated local leadership team. This strategic expansion strengthens regional support for enterprises and government entities accelerating digital transformation under the Saudi Vision 2030 framework.

The launch was highlighted during Riverbed’s EMPOWEREDx conference in Riyadh, attended by Riverbed CEO Dave Donatelli and senior executives. Donatelli emphasized Riverbed’s rapid innovation, strong financial momentum, and recent recognition as the “Best AI Platform in 2025” at the Cloud AI Awards—positioning the company as a frontrunner in global AIOps and observability technology.

Delivering AI-Driven Observability with Full Data Sovereignty in Saudi Arabia
The in-country deployment of Riverbed Aternity Cloud for KSA brings enterprise-scale observability capabilities to Saudi organizations seeking full IT visibility while maintaining compliance with national data residency requirements. Aternity provides real-time insights, capturing telemetry from millions of devices, business applications, and cloud-native workloads.

Globally, the Aternity platform processes:

  • 250+ billion activities daily
  • 4+ million endpoints
  • 6 years of certified SaaS compliance

This launch enhances Riverbed’s standing as a trusted technology partner for Saudi ministries, banks, telecoms, and regulated sectors that require secure, AI-powered performance monitoring.

SaaS Deployment Hosted in-Kingdom for Maximum Control
The introduction of a Saudi-hosted observability cloud offers unmatched deployment flexibility—especially for sensitive sectors such as defense, finance, and government. The new model allows enterprises to adopt AI-powered AIOps functionalities without compromising on security, sovereignty, or governance.

During the launch event, Elie Dib, Senior Vice President EMEA at Riverbed, stated, “With the launch of our locally hosted Aternity Cloud, Saudi enterprises can now access advanced AI-driven observability while ensuring full compliance with national data policies. This supports the Kingdom’s rapid digital transformation and Vision 2030 objectives.”

Charbel Khneisser, Senior Vice President, Global Solutions Engineering, added, “Our goal is to simplify and secure observability for Saudi organizations. This new in-country cloud offering makes it easier than ever to unify tools, optimize IT operations, and leverage AI for measurable business value.”

This comes as Saudi organizations significantly ramp up AI investments. According to Riverbed’s latest survey:

  • AI spending in Saudi Arabia rose 160% year-on-year
  • 55% of Saudi enterprises saw AIOps returns exceed expectations
  • Companies currently use an average of 13 observability tools, with 98% planning consolidation
  • Driving Digital Transformation Across the Kingdom
