Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch a new health-focused feature called Brain Health, aimed at identifying early signs of cognitive decline and dementia using data from smartphones and wearable devices. According to a report by Android Authority, citing South Korean publication Chosun Biz, Samsung may officially announce the feature at CES 2026, strengthening its push into AI-driven digital health and preventive care.
The upcoming Brain Health feature is expected to analyse everyday behavioural and physiological signals, including voice patterns, walking gait, sleep activity, and other passive data collected through Samsung Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy wearables. By tracking subtle changes in these patterns over time, the system could flag early cognitive changes before noticeable symptoms of dementia or related neurological conditions appear.
Samsung had earlier confirmed that it was actively developing cognitive health monitoring technology, highlighting its ambition to expand beyond fitness tracking into mental and brain health. While earlier discussions mentioned inputs such as typing behaviour, app usage, and messaging patterns, it remains unclear which specific data points will be included in the final Brain Health feature.
According to reports, Brain Health will not only detect potential early warning signs but also provide preventive insights and recommendations to users. The feature may also include alerts for caregivers in emergency situations, making it particularly useful for elderly users and families focused on proactive health management. Samsung is also said to be developing personalised cognitive training programs, similar to brain-training apps, designed to help users maintain or improve mental performance through guided exercises.
From a privacy and security standpoint, Samsung reportedly plans to process sensitive health data on-device, leveraging its Samsung Knox security platform. This approach would minimise external data sharing and ensure stronger protection of personal and medical information—an important factor for health-related AI features.
Although Brain Health is believed to be close to completion, Samsung has not officially confirmed its release timeline. The company is reportedly conducting clinical validation with medical institutions to ensure accuracy and reliability before making the feature publicly available. If launched, Samsung Brain Health could mark a significant step forward in AI-powered health monitoring, positioning smartphones and wearables as tools for early dementia detection, preventive healthcare, and long-term cognitive wellness.
