smallest.ai Secures $8 Million Funding to Build Next-Gen Enterprise Voice AI & Text-to-Speech Platform

AI Startup smallest.ai Raises $8 Million Led by Sierra Ventures to Revolutionize Enterprise Voice Automation.

San Francisco- and Bengaluru-based AI startup smallest.ai has raised $8 million (₹70.9 crore) in its seed funding round led by Sierra Ventures, with participation from 3one4 Capital, Better Capital, Upsparks Capital, Schema Ventures, DeVC, and Mission Street Capital. The round also included angel investors such as Boris Wertz (Version One Ventures), Raveen Sastry (Multiply Ventures), and Shyamal Hitesh Anadkat (Applied AI, OpenAI).

The funding will be used to build enterprise-grade voice AI infrastructure, advance text-to-speech (TTS) models, and enhance the startup’s proprietary AI voice agent platform.

Founded in 2023 by Sudarshan Kamath and Akshat Mandloi, smallest.ai is developing foundational AI models for voice AI agents and text-to-speech applications.
The company’s goal is to provide reliable, scalable, and compliant AI voice agents that seamlessly integrate with enterprise systems, CRMs, and communication platforms.

“Enterprises need voice agents that do not break — ones that connect to existing systems with guarantees around accuracy, latency, and compliance. We’re building the foundation for enterprise-grade voice AI that just works,” said Sudarshan Kamath, CoFounder and CEO of smallest.ai.

AI Voice Agents Already Handling Over 1 Million Calls
The startup’s proprietary technology enables 10 seconds of speech generation in just 100 milliseconds, delivering sub-second voice responses and human-like conversational quality. With operations across India and the U.S., smallest.ai aims to make AI-driven voice automation accessible for enterprises of all sizes. The platform’s multilingual voice models and natural-sounding speech synthesis are helping companies create localized AI customer experiences at scale — a key differentiator in global markets.

Before this round, smallest.ai had raised $1.7 million from 3one4 Capital, Upsparks Capital, and DeVC. The startup also participated in the AWS Generative AI Accelerator Program 2025, gaining access to cloud infrastructure and AI development resources from Amazon Web Services.
