HCLTech partners with GSMA for the GSMA Open Gateway initiative

HCLTech has become the first global technology company to join the GSMA Alliance, leveraging its AI, cloud, and network automation expertise to help CSPs build next-generation, hyper-connected digital networks.

HCLTech, a leading global technology company, has announced its collaboration with the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, marking a significant step in transforming how the telecom industry builds, integrates, and monetizes network capabilities. As the first and only global technology company to join the initiative, HCLTech reinforces its position as a trusted innovation partner within the Open Gateway ecosystem, helping Communication Service Providers (CSPs) deliver enhanced customer experiences, simplify application development, and unlock new revenue streams.

The GSMA Open Gateway initiative aims to enable ‘Network as a Platform’ (NaaP) models, redefining how CSPs expose and consume network capabilities through standardized APIs. This global framework is driving a new era of interoperable, programmable, and monetizable telecom networks, empowering developers and enterprises to build next-generation digital services with agility and scalability.

As one of the fastest-growing global system integrators (SIs) in the telecom space, HCLTech will contribute its deep domain expertise, AI-driven platforms, and end-to-end system integration capabilities to help scale the Open Gateway initiative worldwide. The company’s expertise will play a vital role in advancing API-driven innovation, fostering network automation, and promoting cross-industry collaboration between telecom operators, cloud providers, and digital enterprises.

“We are not just joining an initiative — we are shaping the future of telecom. Our alliance with GSMA reflects our commitment to empowering CSPs with agile, programmable networks. With our proprietary IP, AI capabilities and global scale, we are positioned to deliver real-world impact across the telecom value chain,” said Anil Ganjoo, Chief Growth Officer, Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications, HCLTech.

Through this partnership, HCLTech will introduce a converged network monetization platform that enables CSPs to create and capture new value streams from their network assets. The company will also deliver a secure, scalable network API layer that supports autonomous network operations and seamless interoperability across vendors and regions. In addition, HCLTech plans to integrate Agentic AI-powered solutions with native network APIs, further strengthening intelligent automation, predictive maintenance, and customer experience personalization for telecom operators.

“We are delighted to welcome HCLTech to the GSMA Open Gateway partner community. With their proven expertise across 200+ CSPs globally and broad digital transformation capabilities, HCLTech will play a key role in accelerating adoption and delivering innovative, real-world use cases,  ”said Henry Calvert, Head of Networks at GSMA.

The collaboration will also extend across multiple verticals — including manufacturing, energy, government, automotive, travel, healthcare, and financial services — with industry-specific use cases designed to drive digital transformation through real-time connectivity and data insights. By combining its global delivery expertise with GSMA’s open innovation framework, HCLTech aims to accelerate the adoption of API-driven network ecosystems that power 5G, edge computing, and IoT-enabled services.
