HFCL, a leading telecom solutions provider in India, is revolutionizing the digital landscape of Indian educational institutions through its next-gen Wi-Fi solutions. With a strategic focus on enabling seamless, high-speed internet access, HFCL has partnered with top-tier institutions like Delhi University, IIIT Delhi, and the Central University of Kerala, helping overcome the long-standing issue of unreliable campus connectivity.
The initiative acknowledges that internet access is now as fundamental to learning as physical infrastructure. According to UNESCO, 43% of students globally lack internet access at home, making on-campus connectivity crucial for equitable education. HFCL’s integrated approach includes robust hardware installations, centralized network management, and secure user access—tailored for each institution’s specific needs.
At IIIT Delhi, HFCL’s technology was tested during its “Odyssey” cultural fest, which drew 40,000+ attendees. The previous Wi-Fi network failed under pressure, prompting HFCL to deploy high-speed Access Points, supporting over 16,000 concurrent users with speeds above 500 Mbps. The result was seamless digital engagement during the event.
At the Central University of Kerala, spanning a 310-acre campus, HFCL addressed widespread connectivity issues for over 2,500 students. With centralized controllers and smart access policies, the new setup allowed uninterrupted learning and content access, transforming classroom and hostel experiences.
At Delhi University, which serves over 400,000 students, HFCL modernized outdated infrastructure by installing 11,600 Wi-Fi Access Points across colleges and hostels. The upgrade supports emerging use cases such as AR/VR learning and smart classrooms, with secure SSO login and cloud-based monitoring. This has significantly improved speed, security, and user satisfaction.
In a world where the e-learning market is projected to hit $457.8 billion by 2026, HFCL’s campus-wide Wi-Fi solutions are setting a new benchmark for digitally inclusive education in India, helping institutions become future-ready.
