HPE and Veeam Expand Partnership to Strengthen Data Backup and Resilience for Hybrid Cloud Environments

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Veeam Software have announced an expanded partnership to provide stronger, simpler, and more unified data protection for businesses. The collaboration brings together Veeam’s powerful backup and recovery tools with HPE’s Morpheus VM Essentials Software, creating a complete solution for safeguarding data in both private and hybrid cloud environments.

Veeam will now offer image-based backup support for HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, helping organizations protect and manage data across different virtual environments. This integration allows for smooth virtual machine (VM) migration, cross-platform protection, and up to 90% savings in VM licensing costs. Businesses using either HPE Private Cloud or standalone servers can now benefit from simplified backup and better data mobility.

The partnership also supports containerized and cloud-native workloads. Veeam’s Kasten solution provides backup and recovery for modern applications running in containers. When combined with HPE Morpheus and HPE Zerto software, organizations get full protection for bare metal, virtualized, and containerized workloads—all in one platform.

To help enterprises stay ahead of growing cyber threats, HPE and Veeam introduced a new global initiative called “Data Resilience by Design.” This framework offers cybersecurity services, assessments, and long-term strategies to strengthen an organization’s data protection. It helps businesses build a strong defense against ransomware, data loss, and downtime.

Fidelma Russo, CTO of HPE, emphasized the importance of protecting data, calling it both an organization’s most valuable and vulnerable asset. Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, said that today’s IT complexity makes strong data resilience essential—not optional.

With this deeper partnership, HPE and Veeam are giving businesses the tools to secure, manage, and recover their data quickly, while making it easier to evolve their IT systems. The combined solution supports modern hybrid cloud strategies and helps businesses keep running smoothly, even during unexpected disruptions.
