IDEMIA Secure Transactions Launches Quantum-Resistant Cryptographic Library to Safeguard Digital Future

On July 11, 2025, IDEMIA Secure Transactions (IST), a global leader in cryptographic technologies, announced the launch of the IDEMIA Sphere Cryptographic Library—its first offering under the new IDEMIA Sphere cybersecurity portfolio. This advanced library supports both classical and post-quantum algorithms and is certified by the NIST Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program (CAVP), ensuring strong protection against emerging quantum threats.

Quantum computing is rapidly evolving, threatening to undermine current encryption standards and leaving sensitive data across industries at risk. Responding to this challenge, global institutions such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have finalized new post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards. IDEMIA’s new library aligns with these standards, offering a future-ready solution for organizations aiming to transition to quantum-resistant infrastructures.

The IDEMIA Sphere Cryptographic Library is designed for seamless integration into both off-the-shelf and custom systems. It supports hybrid protocols using classical and post-quantum algorithms and includes components optimized for embedded and WhiteBox environments. Clients also benefit from IST’s expert support and long-term consulting services, ensuring smooth deployment and continuous maintenance.

For businesses, the library accelerates product development through certified modules, reduces the risks of transitioning to quantum-resilient infrastructure, and helps bring trusted digital solutions to market faster. For consumers, it ensures stronger protection of personal data—across sectors like finance, healthcare, and identity—without disrupting their digital experiences.

“Quantum computing is redefining the future of cybersecurity. With the launch of the IDEMIA Sphere Cryptographic Library, IDEMIA Secure Transactions empowers organizations across industries to protect today their critical assets against next-generation threats,” said Marc Bertin, CTO, IDEMIA Secure Transactions.

This launch marks a strategic milestone for IST, strengthening its position as a key driver of quantum-secure transformation worldwide. With a track record of over 1.4 billion credentials issued annually and numerous security certifications, IST is leveraging its experience to support organizations in navigating this new security paradigm.
