LG Unveils Generative AI-Powered AI Cabin Platform for Smart Mobility at CES 2026

LG Electronics (LG) will showcase its next-generation AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (January 6–9). Built for automotive high-performance computing (HPC) systems and powered by Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Cockpit Elite, the platform leverages generative artificial intelligence (AI) to redefine the future of in-vehicle experiences.

At its private CES 2026 showcase, LG will debut the AI Cabin Platform within a fully immersive digital cockpit, offering attendees a first look at the AI-Defined Vehicle (AIDV). The AIDV represents a transformative evolution beyond the software-defined vehicle (SDV), introducing a new paradigm of intelligent, adaptive, and personalized mobility.

The AI Cabin Platform integrates advanced generative AI models, including large language models (LLMs), vision language models (VLMs), and image generation technologies, directly into LG’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system. This enables highly contextual, responsive, and intuitive interactions, marking a significant leap forward in smart cockpit technology and AI-driven automotive UX.

Powered by the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite, all AI processing is performed on-device within the vehicle, eliminating reliance on cloud connectivity. This edge AI architecture ensures real-time responsiveness, enhanced system stability, and improved data privacy and cybersecurity, addressing key concerns in connected and autonomous vehicles.

“Building on our proven automotive technologies and global trust, LG will continue to expand strategic partnerships with innovators like Qualcomm Technologies to drive future mobility beyond the SDV toward the AIDV. With the AI Cabin Platform, we are delivering intelligent mobility that understands drivers, anticipates their needs, and creates a truly personalized driving experience,” said Eun Seok-hyun, President, LG Vehicle Solution Company.

Using data from internal and external vehicle cameras, the AI Cabin Platform continuously analyzes the driving environment and driver condition to deliver real-time, personalized driver assistance. For instance, if another vehicle begins merging and the driver has not yet reacted, the system can proactively issue a customized voice alert such as: “A car is merging ahead. Please keep your eyes on the road and drive safely.”

Beyond safety, the platform enhances personalized infotainment experiences through dynamically generated user interfaces. In response to real-world conditions, such as driving on a snowy evening while listening to music, the system can create immersive visual backgrounds—like snowfall under streetlights—and provide context-aware content recommendations, including seasonal music suggestions.

LG’s AI Cabin Platform builds on the company’s ongoing collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, highlighted earlier at CES 2025, where the two companies introduced an HPC platform that integrates IVI and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) into a single control unit. Based on the Snapdragon Ride Flex System-on-Chip (SoC), the solution was recognized for delivering cost efficiency, system consolidation, and high performance.
