Microsoft Expands Xbox Full-Screen Experience to MSI Claw, Bringing Console-Like UI to Windows Handhelds

Microsoft is expanding its Xbox full-screen experience (FSE) to the MSI Claw gaming handheld, following its successful debut on the ASUS ROG Ally and Ally X. The new update is part of the Windows 11 Insider Preview build, bringing console-style navigation and Xbox integration to more Windows handheld gaming devices.

Xbox Console Interface Comes to MSI Claw
The Xbox full-screen experience (FSE) transforms the MSI Claw’s interface into a console-like environment, allowing players to seamlessly browse their Xbox Game Pass library, switch between titles, and launch the Xbox app using gamepad controls — all without returning to the traditional desktop view.

In its press release, Microsoft confirmed that more manufacturers will soon adopt the feature. Among them is Lenovo’s Legion Go 2, expected to launch in 2026, signaling a broader effort to unify the Xbox and Windows handheld gaming ecosystem.

How to Enable the Xbox Full-Screen Experience on MSI Claw
To activate the new feature, users with compatible devices can go to
Settings → Gaming → Full Screen Experience → Select “Xbox” as Home App.

Once enabled, the Xbox interface can be accessed via the Task View, Game Bar, or even configured to launch automatically on startup, making handheld gaming more fluid and console-like than ever before.

Next-Gen Xbox Console and Handheld Strategy
In parallel with these updates, Microsoft has confirmed that its next-generation Xbox console is in active development.

Sarah Bond, President of Xbox, stated in an interview with Variety that the company remains “100% committed to new console hardware in partnership with AMD,” even as it expands its focus on handheld gaming devices.

The upcoming console, rumored to feature a modular “Magnus” chip design for enhanced customization and performance, will complement—not replace—the handheld ecosystem. Microsoft’s Handheld Compatibility Program aims to optimize Xbox Game Pass and Windows gaming for portable form factors like the MSI Claw, ASUS ROG Ally, and future devices.

MSI Claw: Elevating Windows Handheld Gaming
The MSI Claw 8, powered by Intel’s latest processors, continues to position itself as a top-tier handheld gaming PC. With the addition of Microsoft’s Xbox full-screen experience, MSI’s device now delivers a true console-like gameplay interface, offering faster navigation, better immersion, and seamless integration across the Xbox ecosystem.
