In response to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, Okta and Palo Alto Networks have expanded their partnership to deliver integrated, AI-powered security solutions that place identity at the core of digital defense. The announcement, made in Bengaluru on July 16, 2025, introduces two key integrations aimed at strengthening zero-trust security models, enhancing visibility, and simplifying threat responses across devices and networks.

“India’s digital economy is powered by a patchwork of devices and a workforce that connects from everywhere. With the extension of this partnership, we are pairing Okta’s identity intelligence with Palo Alto Networks’ AI-first security platform to make it easier for organisations to enforce zero-trust principles consistently and at scale. And with secure browsing baked in, they can neutralize credential-based threats in real time; all without any additional operational overhead.”
Swapna Bapat, Managing Director and Vice President, India and SAARC, Palo Alto Networks
The first integration connects Okta Workforce Identity with Palo Alto’s Prisma Access Browser, enforcing conditional access by allowing users to log into single sign-on (SSO) applications only through a secure browser. This prevents unauthorized access and reduces the risk of credential-based attacks, especially from unmanaged devices. Employees gain a seamless browsing experience, while security teams maintain granular control over app usage and data flows.
The second integration links Okta’s Identity Threat Protection with Okta AI to Palo Alto’s Cortex XSIAM and XDR platforms. This enables real-time, automated threat detection and response across the full identity attack surface. Risky user behavior can now trigger instant countermeasures such as session termination, access revocation, or endpoint quarantine—dramatically improving response speed and threat containment.
“Today, AI-powered cyberattacks are accelerating alongside rapid digitisation, with identity becoming one of the most targeted attack surfaces. Traditional, siloed security tools simply can’t keep up. That’s why our expanded partnership with Palo Alto Networks is so critical.”
Shakeel Khan, Regional Vice President & Country Manager, Okta India

Executives from both companies emphasized the need for AI-to-AI collaboration to keep pace with evolving threats. Shakeel Khan of Okta India highlighted that identity is now a primary attack vector, and siloed tools are no longer sufficient. Swapna Bapat of Palo Alto Networks added that their joint solution enables organizations to implement zero-trust policies at scale without increasing operational burden.
Industry analysts support this move, citing the need for consolidated, intelligent platforms to secure today’s distributed workforces and cloud-based operations. The Okta–Palo Alto alliance delivers a streamlined security architecture designed to reduce complexity, lower costs, and ensure proactive protection in an era defined by cloud, AI, and hybrid work.
