Tech Mahindra has partnered with Microsoft to launch an ontology-driven Agentic AI platform designed to modernize telecom data ecosystems and accelerate enterprise AI adoption. Built on Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI Foundry, the new platform enables real-time, explainable, and auditable AI-powered decision-making across complex telecom environments.
The collaboration aims to address a major challenge faced by telecom operators and large enterprises: transforming massive volumes of enterprise metadata into actionable insights. As organizations expand through mergers, acquisitions, and evolving digital infrastructure, managing fragmented data systems has become increasingly difficult.
The new platform converts enterprise metadata into structured, reusable data products, helping organizations accelerate Data Mesh adoption from strategy to execution. By using multi-agent orchestration, the solution enables continuous monitoring, reasoning, and automated recommendations across key telecom use cases including churn prediction, fraud detection, revenue assurance, and network optimization.
A core advantage of the platform is its semantic-first architecture, which leverages knowledge graphs and telecom-specific ontologies to improve data understanding and AI accuracy. This approach helps reduce hallucination risks, improves root-cause analysis, and supports compliant AI operations in highly regulated telecom environments.
According to Amol Phadke, Chief Transformation Officer at Tech Mahindra, telecom operators are shifting from experimental AI deployments toward scalable, enterprise-grade intelligence that delivers measurable business outcomes. The ontology-driven platform provides a governed semantic layer that enables cross-domain intelligence, real-time insights, and explainable AI-driven decisions.
The joint solution integrates governed data layers, semantic models, knowledge graphs, and specialized AI agents into a unified enterprise stack. It models telecom entities and business rules across multiple operational domains such as customer management, network infrastructure, revenue systems, and service operations. This ensures traceable and compliance-ready intelligence for mission-critical telecom processes.
Microsoft highlighted that the platform leverages its Microsoft IQ ecosystem, including Work IQ, Fabric IQ, and Foundry IQ, to connect AI models, enterprise data, and business context. This enables AI agents to better understand operational workflows, automate network operations, improve customer experiences, and support AI-driven monetization strategies.
The collaboration also supports Tech Mahindra’s “AI Delivered Right” strategy, which focuses on helping enterprises move from AI experimentation to production-scale deployments. By combining AI agents with telecom-specific knowledge graphs, the platform enables faster AI deployment, lower operational costs, and faster time-to-value.
For telecom providers and enterprises implementing Data Mesh architectures, the solution provides improved governance, stronger data utilization, and privacy-compliant innovation—paving the way for scalable and trustworthy enterprise AI transformation.
