Wipro Expands in Saudi Arabia: New Riyadh HQ and Tech Partnership to Fuel Vision 2030

Wipro, one of India’s leading IT services companies, has made a major strategic move in the Middle East by shifting its regional headquarters from Al Khobar to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This step aligns with the Kingdom’s broader goal of becoming a global tech hub under its ambitious Vision 2030 plan. The new Riyadh HQ was formally inaugurated in the presence of Wipro’s leadership, clients, and Saudi government representatives.’

By combining global expertise with local talent development, Wipro is positioning itself as a key tech enabler in Saudi Arabia’s transformation journey.

In addition to the relocation, Wipro signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) to establish a technology centre on campus. This centre aims to train and nurture local Saudi tech talent, boosting youth employment and innovation. It will also provide students with hands-on experience in digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and cybersecurity—areas Wipro is actively expanding into globally.

Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister for Technology at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT, Mohammed AlRobayan, praised Wipro’s growing presence and commitment to the Kingdom’s digital transformation. He said, “This also underscores the attractiveness of Saudi Arabia’s digital business environment. We value the company’s investment in developing national competencies, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a global technology hub.”

“This strategic move, combined with our ongoing involvement in supporting the goals of the Kingdom, aligns with our vision of driving sustained growth and a future-ready workforce in the region. This commitment is strengthened by the recent appointment of Mohamed Mousa as our new Managing Director for Wipro Middle East out of our Riyadh headquarters, which will further advance our decades-long presence in the Middle East,” said Vinay Firake, CEO – Asia Pacific, India, Middle East & Africa (APMEA), Wipro Limited.

Earlier this year, Wipro restructured its global operations to focus more sharply on AI, cloud services, and digital transformation to meet changing customer demands. Its expansion in Riyadh and academic partnership reflect this new focus, while also strengthening its presence in a fast-growing market.
