Zoho Notebook expands student edition to include Notebook AI

Enhanced capabilities in Notebook AI, powered by Zia, bring intelligent automation to note-taking and knowledge management for businesses of all sizes, and their expansion to the free student edition empowers students with powerful AI capabilities.

Zoho has announced significant enhancements to Zoho Notebook, its comprehensive note-taking application, introducing powerful artificial intelligence features that streamline how teams capture, organise, and retrieve information. These updates are aimed at reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering practical, privacy-focused productivity tools that address real workplace challenges. Additionally, Zoho Notebook has enhanced its free student edition with the latest AI-powered updates, giving students access to the platform’s newest innovations.

The latest version of Zoho Notebook, built on Zoho’s long-standing privacy-first architecture, transforms how organisations manage their collective knowledge. Teams can now work together in dedicated shared workspaces organised around specific projects or departments, while the integrated whiteboard functionality supports diverse content types including text, images, hand-drawn sketches, and geometric shapes. This creates a unified environment where ideas can flow naturally across different formats. Users working in Zoho CRM, Zoho Projects, or Zoho Mail can seamlessly reference and create documentation without switching contexts, establishing Zoho Notebook as the central repository for organisational knowledge. This interconnected approach reduces information silos and helps teams maintain consistency across their workflows.

Zoho Notebook has introduced an advanced AI-powered update to simplify note-taking, organization, and collaboration for students, professionals, and teams. Key features include an Intelligent Q&A Assistant that retrieves context-aware answers from personal notes or generates insights on any topic. Meeting Notes convert spoken content into organized, timestamped text with speaker identification and summaries, enhancing meeting productivity. The new Mind Map Generation feature visually transforms lengthy documents into hierarchical mind maps to aid comprehension. Smart Note Creation allows instant, structured content creation like checklists, tables, and reusable templates. Writing Enhancement offers on-demand assistance for grammar corrections, tone adjustments, concise summaries, and alternative phrasing. Powered by Zoho’s proprietary AI stack, Zia, these features support multilingual voice search and translation, fostering natural workflows and amplifying human capability in digital note-taking. Availability spans Android, iOS, and web platforms.

To enhance regional language support, the application comes with Multilingual Voice Search and Translation that breaks down language barriers, enabling users to locate specific information through voice commands and convert content between different languages as needed. Currently, the application supports 80 global languages, including eight Indian languages, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Oriya, and Sanskrit.

Additionally, Zoho Notebook’s Tone and Voice Customisation feature allows users to switch between professional, friendly, direct, or confident tones to create audience-specific content from formal reports to casual memos. Zoho Notebook will soon offer a new integration between Zoho Voice and Zoho CRM which will bring automatic call transcriptions and meeting or sales notes directly inside CRM records. Zoho CRM users will then be able to review, summarise, and attach AI-generated meeting and sales notes instantly.

Zoho’s Notebook AI is included as part of the Zoho One Premium license at no additional cost and also available as a standalone add-on for individual Notebook users. Notebook Essential is still available for free for users, and users can upgrade to Notebook for Business for enhanced enhanced team productivity and collaboration at ₹333.25/user/month billed annually. The application is available across Android, iOS and web. The student edition of Zoho Notebook (including Notebook AI) is available for free.  Students can avail the all new Zoho Notebook using their educational (.edu) email IDs in the sign-up page.
