EY India’s Rajiv Memani Takes Helm as CII President for 2025-26

Rajiv Memani, Chairman and CEO of EY India, has been appointed President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the 2025-26 term, succeeding Sanjiv Puri, Chairman and MD of ITC Ltd. The announcement was made following the formation of CII’s new National Council.

Memani brings a wealth of leadership experience from both the corporate world and government advisory roles. He currently serves on EY’s Global Executive Board and chairs the Growth Markets Council, where he leads initiatives focused on expanding EY’s footprint in emerging markets and aligning them with global strategies.

Earlier in his career, Memani established EY India’s market-leading Corporate Finance practice, now known as Strategy and Transactions. His leadership within EY has been instrumental in driving the firm’s growth and strategic direction.

Beyond the corporate arena, Memani has made significant contributions to public policy. He was a member of the Ministry of Finance’s task force that drafted India’s new Direct Tax Code in 2019. His involvement in shaping national economic policy further strengthens his credentials for leading CII, India’s premier industry body.

Rajiv Memani also serves in the education and social development sectors. He is President of the Board of Him Jyoti School, an initiative to educate underprivileged girls in Uttarakhand, and holds governance roles at IIM Sirmaur and KREA University.

Alongside Memani, R Mukundan has been named President-Designate of CII for 2025-26, while Suchitra K Ella has been appointed Vice President, forming a leadership team poised to guide Indian industry into its next phase of growth.
