Meta has introduced the Meta Gaming Accelerator, a three-month incubator programme aimed at nurturing India’s burgeoning gaming industry. Launched during Meta’s Marketing Summit (Gaming Edition), the initiative targets small and mid-sized game developers and studios across the country. To provide holistic support, Meta has partnered with four leading venture capital firms — Elevation Capital, Kalaari Capital, Lumikai Fund, and Bitkraft Ventures — to offer mentorship, strategic guidance, and potential funding opportunities.
The accelerator is being rolled out at a time when India’s gaming landscape is rapidly evolving, driven by a growing mobile-first user base, rising investments, and advancements in technologies such as AI and AR/VR. Meta aims to leverage this momentum by equipping selected developers with essential tools, knowledge, and resources to scale their businesses and create high-quality, monetizable games.
Participants in the programme will receive specialised training across several key areas, including:
- Ad monetisation and seamless integration with Meta Ads and the Meta Audience Network
- Campaign optimisation and effective user acquisition strategies for mobile gaming
- Workshops on Llama and other AI-powered tools to enhance storytelling, game personalisation, and design
- Business and funding mentorship from experienced VCs and gaming experts
- Guidance on cross-border scaling to help Indian studios expand globally
Arun Srinivas, MD and head of Meta in India, emphasised the importance of closing the talent-opportunity gap. He said, “India’s gaming community is a hotbed of creativity and innovation, but to unlock its full potential, we need to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. That’s why we’re launching the Meta Gaming Accelerator – to provide Indian gaming developers with access to cutting-edge ad tools, expert mentorship, and critical guidance that they need to scale their businesses and take on the world.”
The accelerator will conclude with a Demo Day, where developers will showcase their progress to a panel of investors, Meta leaders, and industry stakeholders. Top-performing studios could receive additional support, including platform amplification and funding, to further accelerate their growth.
