Woman Tries to Frame Co-worker in Air India Crash Hoax Over One-Sided Love

In a shocking case of revenge, Rene Joshilda, a robotics engineer and senior consultant at Deloitte in Chennai, allegedly tried to frame a former colleague she had unreturned feelings for. Police say she sent dozens of fake bomb threats using his name, including one falsely claiming responsibility for the Air India Flight 171 crash.

Over the course of a year, Joshilda reportedly emailed threats to over 20 locations across 11 Indian states, including stadiums, hospitals, schools, and airports. Her actions caused panic and forced evacuations in places like the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, as police teams launched emergency responses—each time discovering the alerts were fake.

According to Ahmedabad Police, her motive was personal. She was in love with a colleague who did not feel the same way and later got married. Heartbroken and angry, Joshilda allegedly began plotting to ruin his life by making it appear that he was behind the threats.

To hide her identity, Joshilda used advanced digital tools like the dark web, encrypted email IDs, and even a VPN from Pakistan. She sent emails from accounts in her co-worker’s name, attempting to mislead investigators and make him look guilty. Despite her efforts to cover her tracks, cybercrime officers found a small digital mistake that led them to her in Chennai.

Police describe her as highly educated and meticulous, but also deeply driven by obsession. Her actions have raised serious concerns about the use of technology for personal revenge and the emotional toll of unrequited love.

Joshilda is now under investigation, and authorities are reviewing the full impact of her actions, which caused widespread panic and wasted valuable law enforcement resources.
