Microsoft has officially launched Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, enabling gamers to stream and play console-quality games instantly across multiple devices—without needing a physical Xbox console. The feature is available to users subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, giving access to a large library of hundreds of cloud-enabled titles on smartphones, tablets, PCs, Xbox consoles, handheld gaming devices, and even compatible smart TVs from Samsung and LG. Select Amazon Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube devices are also supported.
The rollout comes shortly after Microsoft refreshed its Xbox Game Pass subscription plans, phasing out Game Pass Core and Standard, and introducing new Game Pass Essential and Game Pass Premium tiers. The popular Game Pass Ultimate plan continues unchanged and includes Xbox Cloud Gaming access. Subscription pricing in India starts at ₹499 per month, depending on the plan.
Requirements to Play Xbox Cloud Games in India
To start streaming games via Xbox Cloud Gaming, you will need:
- An active Xbox Game Pass subscription
- A stable internet connection of 20 Mbps or higher
- A compatible Bluetooth or USB controller (though several titles support touch controls on mobile)
Once logged into the Xbox app or browser, players can instantly launch supported games without installations, large downloads, or storage concerns. This makes cloud gaming ideal for users with low-storage devices or those who want to experience AAA titles without buying expensive hardware.
The introduction of Xbox Cloud Gaming marks a major step in expanding the cloud gaming ecosystem in India, offering gamers more flexibility and improving accessibility to high-end gaming experiences across devices.
