Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Red Dead Redemption and its fan-favorite expansion Undead Nightmare will launch worldwide on December 2, 2025, across iOS, Android, Netflix Games, and next-gen consoles. This marks the first time the legendary Western adventure will be available on mobile devices, bringing John Marston’s iconic story to an entirely new audience.
Coming to iOS, Android & Netflix Games for the First Time
For the first time in the franchise’s history, Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be playable on iPhone, iPad, and Android smartphones. These new mobile editions feature touch-optimized controls, ensuring a smooth gameplay experience without the need for a controller.
Netflix subscribers will also receive full access to both titles on December 2 as part of the Netflix Games library, allowing members to download and play without any additional purchase.
According to Rockstar’s official blog, the next-gen editions come with major visual and performance upgrades, including:
- Up to 4K resolution
- 60 frames per second on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
- HDR support for richer color depth
- Enhanced textures and smoother world rendering
Nintendo Switch 2 players can look forward to DLSS support, HDR, improved motion and mouse controls, and stable 60fps performance, making it one of the most optimized portable versions of the game.
Free Upgrades & Save Data Transfers
Rockstar Games confirmed that players who already own the PS4, Xbox One (backwards compatible), or Nintendo Switch versions will receive free upgrades to the new edition.
In addition:
- PS5 players can carry forward their PS4 save files
- Switch 2 players can transfer progress from the original Switch version
- This ensures fans can continue their journey without losing progress.

Both titles come as complete editions, bundling the full single-player story of Red Dead Redemption, the fan-favorite Undead Nightmare zombie expansion, and all Game of the Year Edition bonus content. The enhanced release has been created in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, ensuring polished performance across platforms.
