WSO2 has announced the appointment of Sudesh Vasudevan as Vice President and Head of Corporate Development. This strategic appointment supports WSO2’s continued global expansion, with a focus on driving strategic investments, mergers, and acquisitions (M&A) to strengthen the company’s platform capabilities and market presence.

In his new role, Sudesh will lead WSO2’s global corporate development strategy, partnering with executive leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute acquisition opportunities that align with the company’s vision for digital transformation. His expertise will support WSO2’s mission to deliver secure, scalable, and open-source enterprise technologies that power connectivity, innovation, and business agility.
This appointment follows the acquisition of WSO2 by EQT in 2024, marking a major milestone in the company’s next chapter of growth and innovation. It highlights WSO2’s commitment to accelerating expansion through both organic product innovation and targeted strategic investments.
Leadership Experience in Technology and M&A
With over 15 years of experience across enterprise software, finance, cybersecurity, and M&A, Sudesh Vasudevan brings a proven track record of driving growth and value creation in high-performing organizations.
Before joining WSO2, Sudesh served as Vice President of Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and FP&A at Gupshup, a global conversational engagement platform backed by leading investors including Fidelity and Tiger Global. During his tenure, he built Gupshup’s Corporate Development and Investor Relations functions from the ground up, leading six acquisitions and helping the company triple its revenue.

Prior to that, Sudesh spent more than a decade in software investment banking at Evercore and Deutsche Bank, specializing in cybersecurity and advising on more than $50 billion in M&A and IPO transactions across the U.S. and Europe. Sudesh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and an MBA with distinction from Cornell University. He will be based in San Francisco, California, a key hub for global technology and innovation.
