Milestone Systems has announced a strategic partnership with DCAI (Distributed Computing for AI) to advance the development of responsible, sovereign, and high-performance artificial intelligence models in Europe. As part of this collaboration, Milestone Systems will leverage DCAI’s GEFION supercomputer to accelerate the training and deployment of its Vision Language Model (VLM), developed jointly with NVIDIA.

Milestone’s advanced AI Vision Language Model harnesses the power of NVIDIA Cosmos Reason technology to transform how video data is analyzed and utilized. Designed specifically for smart city and traffic management applications, the model automatically converts video footage into detailed text summaries, reports, and real-time alerts.
This breakthrough makes it possible for cities, transport agencies, and enterprises to extract meaningful intelligence from vast networks of cameras deployed across urban areas, ports, and airports. With the integration of Milestone’s Hafnia Data Library and VLM architecture into DCAI’s Gefion AI infrastructure, the collaboration ensures full compliance with European data protection regulations while delivering optimized performance at scale.
Running the VLM on DCAI’s EU-based Gefion cloud provides complete transparency and compliance with European data sovereignty requirements. The initiative creates a secure and scalable environment where developers, municipalities, and governments can build AI-powered video analytics solutions that adhere to Europe’s ethical standards.
