WhatsApp Launches New Calling Tools, Meta AI, and UI Upgrades

Meta AI

WhatsApp has launched a significant update introducing new features across calls, chats, Status, Channels, and Meta AI—aimed at improving communication, creativity, and overall user experience. The latest WhatsApp update brings missed call messages, enhanced Meta AI image tools, interactive Status stickers, and a redesigned media tab on desktop, making it easier for users to stay connected and manage content efficiently.

New WhatsApp Features

  • Enhanced Calling Experience

WhatsApp has added missed call messages, allowing users to instantly leave a quick voice or video note when a call goes unanswered. Instead of following up separately, callers can now record a brief message based on the type of call—voice or video—making communication more seamless. Voice chats are also getting an upgrade with reaction capabilities, letting users share quick responses like “Cheers!” without interrupting the conversation. Additionally, group video calls now highlight the active speaker, improving clarity during multi-person discussions.

  • Improved Media and Chat Organization

The update introduces a completely redesigned media tab on WhatsApp Web and desktop. Documents, links, images, and videos are now neatly organised in one place, helping users locate older files quickly. WhatsApp has also refined link previews to prevent long URLs from cluttering chats and disrupting the layout.

  • Interactive Status and Channel Upgrades

WhatsApp Status is becoming more engaging with new interactive stickers—including music lyrics, question prompts, and tappable elements that viewers can interact with. For Channels, WhatsApp has added a new Questions feature that enables admins to collect responses from followers in real time, making it easier to run polls, gather feedback, and improve engagement.

  • Meta AI Enhancements Integrated Into WhatsApp

WhatsApp’s Meta AI is also receiving updates. Users can now animate any picture into a short video, expanding creative possibilities for sharing personalised AI-generated content across chats and Status updates.

With these new updates, WhatsApp continues to enhance user experience by blending communication, productivity, and AI-driven creativity—strengthening its position as one of the most feature-rich messaging platforms globally.
