Audio storytelling platform Pocket FM has announced a strategic collaboration with OpenAI to integrate advanced artificial intelligence tools into its content creation ecosystem. The partnership aims to accelerate the production and global distribution of AI-powered audio storytelling, enabling creators to develop high-quality audio series faster and reach audiences worldwide.
As part of the collaboration, Pocket FM will deploy OpenAI’s APIs across its production infrastructure, which currently supports more than 300,000 creators globally. The integration will allow writers and creators to generate scripts, localize stories and publish studio-quality audio series more efficiently while distributing them in multiple languages.
Pocket FM said the new AI capabilities will significantly streamline the content development process, helping creators move from concept to publication faster while maintaining consistent quality across large volumes of storytelling content.
The company has been gradually transforming its technology infrastructure around generative AI since 2023, rebuilding its content creation stack to support AI-assisted storytelling. As a result, the platform now hosts more than 100,000 AI-native audio series, making AI-generated content one of the fastest-growing categories on the platform. According to Pocket FM, AI-created titles are currently expanding at nearly 30% month-on-month, reflecting strong demand for scalable audio entertainment.
Prateek Dixit, Cofounder responsible for product, technology and AI at Pocket FM, said artificial intelligence plays a central role in the company’s long-term vision. He explained that the collaboration with OpenAI will help elevate the company’s AI strategy by combining OpenAI’s advanced APIs with Pocket FM’s creator ecosystem and content infrastructure.
Dixit noted that the partnership enables a new model for digital entertainment, where a single creator anywhere in the world can produce, publish and distribute professional-quality audio content to millions of listeners globally. According to him, the integration represents a major step toward the democratization of storytelling, allowing independent creators to access tools previously available only to large production studios.
Pocket FM also emphasized that the integration will support its global localization strategy, using AI-driven translation and multilingual capabilities to adapt stories for international audiences. This approach will allow creators to distribute their content across multiple languages and regions, helping expand the platform’s global reach.

Pocket FM currently serves more than 250 million listeners worldwide, with users consuming over 12 billion minutes of content every month. With the integration of OpenAI’s AI capabilities, the company plans to further expand its library of creator-led audio series and make more titles accessible to international audiences through AI-enabled content production and storytelling tools.
The partnership underscores the growing role of generative AI in digital media and entertainment, where technology is increasingly helping creators scale production while maintaining creative control.
