Informatica has deepened its collaboration with Microsoft by introducing new capabilities for Microsoft Fabric Open Mirroring and expanding its Azure footprint with a new data delivery point in Switzerland. These updates aim to strengthen enterprise data integration, governance, and AI-driven analytics across hybrid and multicloud environments.
Informatica has announced general availability of support for its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) with Microsoft Fabric Open Mirroring. This integration simplifies how organizations ingest, synchronize, and manage data across Microsoft Fabric and Azure. With a single-click enablement, customers can now build and maintain large-scale data ingestion pipelines from over 300 enterprise data sources into Microsoft Fabric mirrored databases, significantly reducing complexity and improving efficiency.
The Open Mirroring capability allows seamless synchronization between Fabric OneLake and Fabric Data Warehouse, enabling near real-time access to enterprise data. By embedding governance, data quality, and master data management directly into these pipelines, Informatica ensures that data remains reliable, secure, and ready for advanced AI and analytics use cases.
In addition to enhancing data integration, Informatica has expanded its geographic presence by launching a new IDMC Azure-based point-of-delivery (pod) in Switzerland. This new deployment is designed to support European customers with strict data residency, sovereignty, and regulatory requirements, allowing organizations to process and manage data locally while maintaining compliance.
The Switzerland Azure pod provides access to Informatica’s full suite of cloud data management services, including serverless data integration, AI-powered data governance, data quality management, and master data management. Customers can also access these services via Microsoft Marketplace, aligning with Azure consumption commitments.
These developments reflect the growing importance of trusted data foundations as enterprises accelerate AI adoption. By combining Microsoft Fabric’s data platform capabilities with Informatica’s AI-powered data management solutions, organizations can reduce data silos, improve data visibility, and accelerate time-to-value for analytics and AI initiatives.
The new features are available with the April 2026 IDMC release, while the Switzerland-based Azure pod has been live since March 2026. Together, these innovations reinforce Informatica and Microsoft’s commitment to enabling scalable, secure, and compliant data ecosystems for the AI era.
