Leading Bottled Water Company Embraces Low-Code Automation for Operational Efficiency.

Mai Dubai has successfully executed a large-scale digital transformation initiative using the Kissflow low-code, no-code platform. Within just two years, the company has digitalised and automated 96 critical business processes, significantly improving operational efficiency, reducing manual workloads, and enhancing overall organisational agility.

The company adopted Kissflow to complement its existing ERP infrastructure, enabling faster application development and seamless workflow automation without disrupting core systems. Adrian D’Cunha, Head of Information Technology at Mai Dubai, explained that while the ERP system remains central to operations, many business challenges exist outside it. By implementing a low-code platform, the organisation was able to rapidly build customised applications, integrate data across systems, and digitise workflows with greater flexibility and speed.

Following the implementation of Kissflow in November 2024, Mai Dubai quickly scaled its automation efforts across key operational areas. Processes such as sales order creation, invoice approvals, discount approvals, and various internal workflows were transformed from manual, fragmented activities into streamlined digital operations. This shift enabled faster execution and reduced dependency on disconnected systems.

One of the most notable achievements in this transformation journey is the development of a fully customised fleet management system. Instead of investing in an external, off-the-shelf solution, Mai Dubai designed and deployed this system in-house using Kissflow’s low-code capabilities. This approach not only reduced implementation costs and timelines but also ensured that the solution was precisely aligned with the company’s operational complexity. The success of this initiative highlights the platform’s ability to replace traditional enterprise applications with tailored, scalable solutions.

The impact of automation has been substantial. By eliminating repetitive tasks and streamlining approval processes, Mai Dubai has reduced process cycle times by up to 50 percent. This improvement has translated into faster order processing, more responsive approvals, enhanced customer and partner experiences, and greater operational transparency across the value chain.

Beyond large-scale automation, Kissflow has also empowered business users within the organisation to take ownership of innovation. Teams are now able to independently build and deploy solutions, significantly accelerating development cycles. A clear example of this capability is the company’s merchandising system, which was conceptualised, developed, and deployed in just 45 minutes, demonstrating the speed and flexibility that low-code platforms can deliver.

D’Cunha highlighted that Kissflow successfully bridged the gap between speed, efficiency, and governance. What began as simple workflow automation evolved into a comprehensive application platform that was deployed in weeks, scaled internally without third-party dependency, and even extended to external vendors. This evolution underscores the platform’s role as a transformative tool within the organisation.

Prasanna Rajendra, Vice-President, EMEA at Kissflow, noted that Mai Dubai’s journey reflects a broader shift from IT-led transformation to business-led innovation. By enabling operational teams to build, adapt, and optimise their own workflows, the company has significantly increased execution speed. The creation of a unified digital layer connecting people, processes, and data in real time has laid the foundation for a more responsive and intelligent operating model.

Today, Mai Dubai leverages the platform not only for automation but also as a foundation for data-driven decision-making. By consolidating workflows and integrating data from multiple systems, the company benefits from real-time operational insights. This enhanced visibility supports more accurate planning and forecasting, improves resilience, and enables proactive, informed decision-making across the business.

As Mai Dubai continues its growth trajectory, its investment in low-code innovation and its ability to build and scale business-critical systems in-house position it strongly for the future. With a robust digital foundation in place, the company is well-equipped to remain agile, efficient, and competitive in an increasingly dynamic market.
