Google has finalized a $32 billion acquisition of cybersecurity startup Wiz, marking one of the largest deals in the cybersecurity sector. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening cloud security and AI-driven threat protection for businesses operating across multiple cloud environments.
Under the agreement, Wiz will join Google Cloud, while continuing to support customers using other major cloud platforms. The deal comes after Wiz reportedly surpassed $1 billion in annual recurring revenue in 2025, highlighting the rapid growth of the cloud security company.

Reports suggest Google initially approached Wiz in 2024 with a $23 billion acquisition proposal, but the startup declined the offer at the time. Negotiations resumed in early 2025, ultimately resulting in a revised $32 billion all-cash agreement, which is $9 billion higher than the original proposal.
The acquisition reflects the increasing importance of cloud security, AI-powered threat detection, and multi-cloud protection as enterprises expand their digital infrastructure.
