LinkedIn CEO to Lead Microsoft Office and Copilot in Leadership Reshuffle

Microsoft has announced a major leadership reshuffle, giving LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky added responsibility over its key Office products—Word, Excel, and the AI-powered Copilot tool. Despite this expansion in his role, Roslansky will continue leading LinkedIn and will now report directly to Rajesh Jha, head of Microsoft’s Windows division, who also oversees Teams and other core services.

According to an internal memo from CEO Satya Nadella, this change is part of a strategy to streamline leadership and improve focus on Microsoft’s most important offerings. The company aims to unify innovation across productivity and AI tools to better serve enterprise and consumer needs.

Other shifts include Charles Lamanna, who leads Copilot for business and industrial clients, Sumit Chauhan, and Gaurav Sareen—all of whom will also begin reporting to Rajesh Jha under the new structure. These changes reflect Microsoft’s increased focus on AI integration and collaboration across products.

This is Microsoft’s second leadership change in three months. In March, the company appointed a new Chief People Officer following the transition of Kathleen Hogan into a new strategic role.

In addition, Microsoft has launched a free cybersecurity program for European governments to strengthen defenses against rising cyber threats, especially those linked to state-backed actors from China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia. This initiative will boost intelligence-sharing and focus on AI-related threats to protect digital infrastructure.

Overall, these changes underscore Microsoft’s commitment to AI-driven innovation, organizational agility, and global cybersecurity support.
