Commvault has announced an expanded regional partnership with MDS Systems Integration Group to jointly meet the rising demand for advanced cybersecurity and data protection services across the Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) arrives at a crucial time as Gulf countries accelerate digital transformation initiatives centered on smart cities, artificial intelligence, e-governance, and cloud adoption. The collaboration between Commvault and MDS Systems supports national agendas such as UAE 2031, Saudi Vision 2030, and Qatar National Vision 2030 by providing enhanced cyber resilience solutions that assist organizations in regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, and operational continuity across the GCC.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2025, 72% of global organizations report elevated cyber risks, with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) mirroring this trend amid rapid digital adoption. AI misuse has emerged as the top cybersecurity concern, and over 40% of entities in critical sectors across the GCC have faced social engineering attacks, underscoring the need for robust cyber defense, cross-sector collaboration, and stronger regulatory alignment.
Fady Rachmany, Corporate Vice President for Emerging Markets at Commvault, highlighted, “Our gold standard cyber resilience platform combined with MDS Systems’ extensive IT services and system integration expertise positions us to deliver significant value. We are committed to helping organizations in the Gulf region maintain continuous business operations despite increasing cyber threats.”
The partnership aims to identify and target high-potential markets in government, financial services, energy, and critical infrastructure. Both Commvault and MDS Systems will pursue joint go-to-market strategies and technical collaborations aligned with each country’s cybersecurity frameworks. They plan to establish advanced regional service capabilities to offer consultative and managed cyber resilience solutions tailored to the Gulf’s evolving threat landscape.
Sami Abi Esber, President of MDS Systems Integration Group, emphasized, “This partnership strengthens cyber resilience across the Gulf by combining Commvault’s leadership in data protection with our mission to accelerate digital transformation. Together, we empower enterprises with the agility, intelligence, and security necessary to safeguard critical assets and ensure uninterrupted business continuity.”
Commvault’s portfolio includes sophisticated cybersecurity technologies such as Cleanroom Recovery, AirGap Storage, AI-powered ransomware recovery, and cloud-native data protection designed to meet the Gulf’s unique market requirements. These solutions ensure rapid recovery from cyber incidents while supporting compliance with international and regional standards.
