Adobe Firefly Introduces Prompt-Based AI Video Editing, Advanced Camera Control, and Multi-Model Support

Adobe has rolled out major updates to Adobe Firefly, expanding its capabilities as a powerful AI video editing and generative content platform. The latest release focuses on prompt-based video editing, improved camera motion control, high-quality video upscaling, and broader multi-model AI support, giving creators greater precision and flexibility when producing AI-generated videos.

One of the most significant enhancements is Prompt to Edit, which allows users to modify specific elements within a video using simple text prompts. Creators can now remove unwanted objects, change backgrounds, adjust lighting, or reframe a shot without regenerating the entire clip. This saves time and enables more accurate edits—especially useful for social media creators, marketers, and video professionals working with AI-generated footage.

Adobe has also improved camera motion handling in Firefly. Users can upload a reference image along with a short clip demonstrating the desired camera movement. Firefly then applies similar motion—such as pans, zooms, or tracking shots—to the AI-generated video. This feature helps achieve a more cinematic, intentional look, making AI video production feel less random and more director-driven.

Another major update is video upscaling, powered by Adobe’s partnership with Topaz Astra. This tool enables creators to enhance low-resolution footage and upscale videos to 1080p or 4K, improving clarity and sharpness for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and professional presentations. Importantly, Firefly allows background processing, so users can continue working while videos are being upscaled.

Adobe has also expanded multi-model AI support, giving users access to different generative models—including Google Nano Banana Pro—so creators can choose the AI engine that best fits their creative needs.

Additionally, Adobe has launched the Firefly browser-based video editor in public beta, allowing users to seamlessly combine AI-generated video clips with their own footage in a single workspace. This makes Firefly a more complete solution for AI-powered video creation, editing, and content production. With these updates, Adobe Firefly strengthens its position as a leading AI video editing tool, empowering creators with faster workflows, smarter controls, and higher-quality results.
