Cloudflare Partners with JD Cloud to Build a Global AI Inference Cloud

Matthew Prince, CEO and co-founder of Cloudflare

Together, Cloudflare and JD Cloud are setting a new benchmark for global AI inference infrastructure, enabling faster innovation, simplified deployment, and seamless cross-border scalability for the next generation of AI-powered applications.

Cloudflare has announced a strategic expansion of its partnership with JD Cloud, the intelligent cloud and AI technology arm of JD.com. The collaboration is aimed at accelerating AI inference deployment, improving application performance, and enabling developers to scale AI workloads globally with significantly reduced latency.

As demand for generative AI, machine learning inference, and real-time AI applications continues to surge, developers increasingly require geographically distributed, high-performance infrastructure. Through this expanded partnership, Cloudflare and JD Cloud expect to reduce AI inference latency by up to 80 percent, creating a truly global AI cloud platform that seamlessly connects developers across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia—including streamlined access to the China market.

“The future of AI innovation depends on a globally distributed, low-latency network. By deepening our collaboration with JD Cloud, we are empowering developers with a simple, secure, and scalable way to build and run AI-powered applications across borders, without operational complexity,” said Matthew Prince, Co-Founder and CEO of Cloudflare.

The enhanced partnership builds on over five years of collaboration between the two companies. By integrating Cloudflare’s global edge network with JD Cloud’s robust China-based cloud infrastructure, customers can now activate services in mainland China with just a few clicks—without modifying application code. User traffic from China is automatically routed to JD Cloud-operated local data centers, while global traffic is served from the nearest Cloudflare edge location, ensuring low latency, high availability, and regulatory compliance.

In addition to performance optimisation, the platform delivers enterprise-grade cloud security, including Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection, DDoS mitigation, and a high-speed Content Delivery Network (CDN). These capabilities help developers and enterprises deploy secure, AI-driven applications while maintaining consistent user experiences worldwide.

JD Cloud stated that the partnership aligns with its mission to provide scalable cloud services, AI infrastructure, and digital transformation solutions to global businesses. Leveraging JD.com’s deep expertise in e-commerce, logistics, and real-world AI use cases, JD Cloud continues to enhance its ability to deliver market-leading AI and cloud services for developers and enterprises alike.
