IDEMIA Secure Transactions, Tele2 IoT and Cisco Launch Commercial End-to-End IoT Solution

News

New global IoT connectivity solution enables secure device provisioning and management from a single platform.

IDEMIA Secure Transactions, Tele2 IoT and Cisco have announced the launch of one of the first commercially available end-to-end IoT solutions based on the GSMA SGP.32 eSIM standard. The new solution was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and enables businesses to securely deploy, manage and scale connected devices globally using a single eSIM platform and stock-keeping unit (SKU).

The solution aims to simplify global IoT deployments by removing traditional barriers such as complex SIM logistics, regional SIM requirements and high operational costs. With this approach, organizations can provision, orchestrate and manage connected IoT devices worldwide through a single platform, significantly improving efficiency and scalability.

Historically, companies deploying IoT devices across multiple countries have faced operational challenges due to the need for different physical SIM cards in different regions. This process has often led to complicated logistics, longer deployment timelines and increased operational expenses.

The collaboration between Tele2 IoT, IDEMIA Secure Transactions and Cisco addresses these challenges by introducing a commercial end-to-end IoT connectivity solution that allows enterprises to connect and manage devices globally using a single eSIM SKU and centralized connectivity management platform.

The solution integrates IDEMIA Secure Transactions’ GSMA-certified SGP.32 eSIM ecosystem, which enables secure remote provisioning and lifecycle management of connected devices. It also includes Cisco’s Mobility Services Platform, featuring the IoT Control Center connectivity management platform with SGP.32 orchestration capabilities. Tele2 IoT contributes global connectivity infrastructure, providing reliable networks, remote eSIM profile switching and dedicated worldwide customer support.

By eliminating the need for local SIM sourcing, manual provisioning and physical SIM replacements, the solution significantly simplifies large-scale IoT deployments. Tele2 IoT and IDEMIA Secure Transactions manage local network onboarding and ensure regulatory compliance in restricted markets, which can reduce deployment timelines from several months to only minutes in many cases.

Onur Kasaba, Managing Director of Tele2 IoT, said that Tele2 IoT’s mission is to ensure IoT works seamlessly for businesses regardless of country, complexity or scale. He added that the company is proud to introduce a scalable solution that significantly reduces time to market. By combining Tele2 IoT’s global connectivity with IDEMIA’s eSIM ecosystem and Cisco’s management platform, organizations can fully leverage the benefits of the SGP.32 specification without having to make complex infrastructure decisions. According to him, the solution is particularly valuable for industries with global connectivity requirements such as automotive.

Fabien Jautard, EVP Connectivity Services at IDEMIA Secure Transactions, stated that the commercial launch of the end-to-end SGP.32 solution represents an important milestone for the IoT industry. He explained that IDEMIA provides the secure eSIM ecosystem required for large-scale remote provisioning and regulatory compliance worldwide. Working together with Tele2 IoT and Cisco, the companies are transforming the SGP.32 specification into a fully operational solution for global enterprises and IoT deployments.

Masum Mir, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco Provider Mobility, said the partnership with Tele2 IoT is designed to unlock innovation within the IoT ecosystem. By removing key barriers to IoT deployment, the collaboration enables organizations to develop new revenue-generating services and accelerate innovation. He added that the partnership leverages advanced IoT and mobility technologies to help Tele2 IoT expand service capabilities and support the industry’s transition toward the physical AI era.

Tele2 IoT, IDEMIA Secure Transactions and Cisco are showcasing the newly launched end-to-end IoT solution at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from March 2 to March 5 in Hall 7, Stand A41, where visitors can see live demonstrations of the platform and its capabilities.
