Cloudflare has announced a major expansion of its Agent Cloud platform, introducing new infrastructure and developer tools designed to support the next generation of AI agents at scale.
As the software landscape shifts from chatbots to autonomous, task-driven agents, Cloudflare aims to provide a secure and scalable foundation for building production-ready AI applications. The enhanced Agent Cloud enables developers to build, deploy, and manage long-running AI agents capable of executing complex, multi-step workflows across enterprise environments.
At the core of this expansion is a new compute model powered by Dynamic Workers, which allows AI-generated code to run in lightweight, sandboxed environments. These workers launch in milliseconds and offer significantly faster and more cost-efficient performance compared to traditional container-based systems.
“The way people build software is fundamentally changing. We are entering a world where agents are the ones writing and executing code But agents need a home that is secure by default, scales to millions instantly, and persists across long-running tasks. We’ve spent nine years building the foundation for this with Cloudflare Workers. Today, we are making Cloudflare the definitive platform for the agentic web,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare.
Cloudflare has also introduced Artifacts, a Git-compatible storage system tailored for AI-generated code, enabling developers to manage large-scale repositories and provide persistent storage for agent workflows. Additionally, the platform now includes Sandboxes—fully isolated Linux environments that allow agents to run applications, install dependencies, and operate like independent computing systems.
To support more advanced use cases, Cloudflare launched “Think,” a framework within its Agents SDK that enables persistent, long-running agents capable of handling complex, cross-platform tasks beyond single prompts.
“Cloud agents are quickly becoming a foundational building block for how work gets done, and with Cloudflare, we’re making it dramatically easier for developers to deploy, production- ready agents powered by GPT-5.4 and Codex to run real enterprise workloads at scale,” said Rohan Varma, Product, Codex, at OpenAI.
The platform also integrates a unified AI model ecosystem, allowing developers to seamlessly switch between proprietary models from OpenAI and open-source alternatives. This flexibility ensures developers can adapt quickly as AI technologies evolve.
With these updates, Cloudflare is positioning itself as a key infrastructure provider for the emerging “agentic web,” where millions of AI agents will operate autonomously to drive enterprise productivity and innovation.
