Indian Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla Set to Launch for ISS on June 8 with Axiom-4 Mission

Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is set to make history as he launches to the International Space Station (ISS) on June 8 at 6:41 PM IST aboard the Axiom-4 mission. Originally scheduled for May 29, the launch was postponed and will now take place from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Shukla will be part of a four-member international crew, and his mission marks a major milestone in India’s growing presence in human spaceflight.

During his stay on the ISS, Shukla will conduct seven cutting-edge experiments designed to advance India’s microgravity and space medicine research. These experiments are expected to provide valuable insights that will support future deep-space missions.

This mission aligns with India’s broader space goals, including the development of its own space station by 2035 and landing Indian astronauts on the Moon by 2047. Shukla’s participation highlights India’s collaboration with international space agencies and private companies, such as Axiom Space, and builds on the foundation laid by ISRO’s Gaganyaan program.

As the nation watches with pride, Shukla’s journey to space symbolizes India’s growing ambitions in space exploration and sets the stage for even greater achievements in the coming decades.
