Scaler Becomes India’s First Fully AI-Native Learning Platform to Bridge the AI Skills Gap

NASSCOM

Scaler has announced a major transformation, becoming India’s first fully AI-native tech career platform. The company has completely rebuilt its curriculum, pedagogy, and learning ecosystem to address a critical gap in the country’s AI talent landscape—where confidence far outweighs actual capability.

The move follows a joint study by Scaler and CyberMedia Research, which revealed that while 89% of Indian engineers believe they are AI-ready, only 19% are actively building AI systems. This disconnect between perceived readiness and real-world skills has prompted Scaler to redesign its programs from the ground up, rather than simply layering AI modules onto traditional courses.

To better understand industry expectations, Scaler engaged with over 1,200 hiring companies, including global tech giants, Indian enterprises, and startups. The findings highlighted a widespread issue: many existing training programs focus on surface-level tools, creating the illusion of AI expertise without delivering the depth required by employers.

The revamped platform integrates AI across all major disciplines, including software engineering, data science, AI/ML, and DevOps. Learners are now trained in real-world AI environments—building LLM-powered applications, working with transformer models, and deploying systems using modern MLOps practices. The programs emphasize hands-on experience, ensuring that learners move beyond theory to practical implementation.

New specialized tracks such as Modern Software and AI Engineering, Advanced AI/ML with Agentic AI, and DevOps with AI Platform Engineering reflect this shift. Additionally, Scaler has introduced an AI-powered learning companion that adapts in real time to individual learners, along with updated hiring preparation aligned with AI-first recruitment practices, including LLM-based coding assessments and system design evaluations.

India’s growing demand for AI talent makes this transformation particularly significant. Industry reports from organizations like NASSCOM and Deloitte suggest that AI talent demand could nearly double by 2027, while only a small percentage of professionals currently possess advanced AI skills.

By focusing on deep technical understanding rather than quick certifications, Scaler aims to prepare professionals for long-term success in an AI-driven world. The platform is designed as a continuous learning ecosystem, evolving alongside advancements in AI to ensure learners remain competitive in an ever-changing technology landscape.
