Sonata Software has announced the appointment of Rajsekhar Datta Roy as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective May 9, 2026, marking a significant leadership transition aimed at accelerating global expansion and AI-led innovation.
Rajsekhar Datta Roy, widely known as Raj, will lead Sonata Software’s international business for a three-year term. With over three decades of experience in enterprise technology, global delivery, and digital transformation, he is expected to drive the company’s next phase of growth in an increasingly AI-centric IT services landscape.
Leadership Transition and Strategic Direction
Raj succeeds Samir Dhir, who will step down as Managing Director and CEO on May 8, 2026. To ensure continuity, Dhir will continue as an advisor to the board until the end of 2026. The board acknowledged his contributions in strengthening Sonata’s market position and advancing its growth strategy.
Raj has played a key role in transforming Sonata Software into an AI-first organization. He has been instrumental in scaling the company’s Microsoft and Dynamics practices, while also driving the development of its proprietary AI platform, Harmoni.AI, and promoting a Responsible-first AI approach.
In his previous role as Chief Delivery Officer, Raj led global operations, delivery excellence, and large-scale digital transformation programs across enterprise clients. His leadership has also contributed to improved operational efficiency and margin expansion in recent quarters.
