Veeam Software has announced Agent Commander, a unified platform designed to help enterprises detect AI risk, protect AI systems, and precisely undo AI-driven mistakes. The solution is built to address the growing complexity of managing agentic AI at scale, enabling organizations to proactively mitigate AI-related threats while securely expanding the use of autonomous AI agents across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Agent Commander represents the first major integration following Veeam’s acquisition of Securiti AI. By combining Veeam’s industry-leading data resilience capabilities with Securiti AI’s Data Command Center, the platform establishes a unified control plane that bridges data resilience, data security, and AI governance. This integration delivers comprehensive visibility and control across an organization’s entire data and AI estate, ensuring that AI systems operate within clearly defined security and governance boundaries. The solution will be made available in a future release of the Securiti Data Command Center.
As AI adoption accelerates, enterprises are facing a widening trust gap. AI agents operate at machine speed, accessing and acting on sensitive data within seconds. In many organizations, however, data protection, AI security, governance, and recovery systems remain fragmented. These siloed environments lack unified visibility, granular policy enforcement, and precision response mechanisms capable of operating at AI velocity. Sensitive data is increasingly being fed into AI models without adequate oversight, while traditional workflows that take hours to detect incidents and days to remediate them expose organizations to significant operational and compliance risks.
Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, emphasized the urgency of addressing AI risk in real time, noting that organizations must understand what data is being used, by which agent, and how it is being processed. If an AI-driven error occurs, they must also be able to quickly assess the impact and reverse any resulting damage. Agent Commander provides this capability by enabling enterprises to detect, protect, and, when necessary, undo AI actions with speed and precision through Veeam’s unified platform.
At the core of Agent Commander is Veeam’s Data Command Graph, a real-time relational intelligence engine that maps live connections between enterprise data, user identities, AI models, and autonomous agents across both production and backup environments. This deep contextual intelligence allows organizations to identify what Veeam describes as “toxic combinations,” where compromised identities, exposed data, and AI agents intersect and amplify risk. By continuously analyzing how these relationships evolve, the platform enables proactive risk detection before issues cascade across systems.
Agent Commander delivers three tightly integrated capabilities within a single operational framework. It provides contextual AI risk detection that identifies Shadow AI, sensitive data exposure, and risky agent behavior while analyzing downstream system impact. It enforces granular, real-time controls across data, identities, and AI agents, operating independently of model providers and cloud platforms to support hybrid enterprise environments. Most distinctively, it enables precision recovery by surgically reversing unwanted AI-driven actions, restoring trusted data states without rolling back entire systems or disrupting broader operations.
By converging relational AI intelligence with enterprise-grade data resilience, Agent Commander establishes a new standard for trusted and recoverable AI at scale. As AI becomes embedded into core business processes, enterprises can no longer treat data protection, AI security, privacy, governance, and recovery as separate disciplines. The platform unifies these functions into a cohesive system designed to support secure AI innovation while maintaining operational continuity.
Rehan Jalil, President of Products and Technology at Veeam, stated that controlling AI risk is effectively impossible in siloed environments or without deep contextual intelligence across data, permissions, and autonomous agents. Agent Commander addresses this challenge by unifying control across production and backup systems, enabling enterprises to detect complex risk intersections, enforce policy at a granular level, and precisely reverse AI-driven actions.
Industry analysts have noted that the integration of Veeam and Securiti AI capabilities provides a clear roadmap for delivering enhanced security and operational efficiency across enterprise AI environments. By aligning data resilience, data security, and AI governance within a single platform, Agent Commander positions Veeam at the forefront of enterprise-scale AI risk management and trusted AI operations.
