Axis’ new panoramic camera makes Reliable Surveillance in Extreme Environments possible.

Axis Communications has unveiled a new 8K AI-powered multisensor panoramic camera designed to deliver ultra-clear, wide-area surveillance even in the harshest environments. The new AXIS Q3839-SPVE Panoramic Camera provides a smooth and seamless 180-degree panoramic view, enabling complete situational awareness with no blind spots.

The camera captures 29-megapixel video at 30 frames per second, offering 180° horizontal and 90° vertical coverage for detailed, high-resolution overviews. Built for demanding conditions, it is housed in a corrosion-resistant electropolished stainless steel (EN1.440 / SS 316L) casing and operates reliably in extreme temperatures ranging from -50°C to 55°C. This makes it ideal for marine surveillance, including ships, ports, and harbors, as well as other outdoor and industrial environments.

In addition to marine use cases, the camera is also certified under NSF/ANSI Standard 169, making it suitable for food processing facilities where hygiene, durability, and easy maintenance are critical. The smooth surface design allows for quick cleaning and reduced downtime.

The AXIS Q3839-SPVE is a cost-effective security solution that delivers the benefits of four cameras while using a single IP address. Features such as lossless zoom allow operators to zoom in on distant objects without losing image quality, while horizon straightening ensures stable and visually balanced footage.

Powered by an integrated deep learning processing unit (DLPU), the camera supports advanced AI video analytics at the edge. It comes preinstalled with AXIS Object Analytics, enabling real-time detection, classification, tracking, and counting of people and different vehicle types. This reduces false alarms and improves operational efficiency in large surveillance areas.

The camera can also be paired with Axis radar devices, unlocking additional capabilities through AXIS Radar Data Visualizer. This application combines radar and video data to create customizable visual overlays, enhancing threat detection and situational awareness, especially in low-visibility conditions.

Security is built into the core of the device. The camera is powered by a dual Axis system-on-chip and includes Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cybersecurity platform that protects against unauthorized access. It also supports FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified secure cryptographic key storage, ensuring data integrity and device authenticity.

With its combination of 8K video quality, AI-driven analytics, rugged design, and enterprise-grade cybersecurity, Axis Communications’ latest multisensor camera sets a new benchmark for critical infrastructure surveillance, industrial security, marine monitoring, and harsh-environment video protection.
