Saviynt has appointed Tim Wedande as Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, strengthening its regional leadership and technical strategy capabilities.

Based in Melbourne, Wedande will lead technology strategy, support strategic customer engagements, and act as a trusted advisor to enterprises undergoing complex identity security transformations. He will collaborate closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to accelerate adoption of Saviynt’s Identity Cloud platform and deliver measurable business outcomes.

With over two decades of experience in cybersecurity and digital transformation, Wedande brings deep expertise in security advisory and enterprise identity modernization. Prior to joining Saviynt, he served as a Partner at EY, where he worked with global organizations across regulated industries to design scalable and resilient identity frameworks.

According to Alex Lei, Senior Vice President for APJ at Saviynt, the appointment comes at a time when organizations across the region are increasingly prioritizing identity as a core security layer. He noted that Wedande’s consulting experience and customer-centric approach will help strengthen Saviynt’s regional presence and enable enterprises to unlock greater value from identity security investments.

The Asia Pacific identity and access management (IAM) market is witnessing rapid growth, driven by digital transformation, cloud adoption, hybrid work environments, and increasing regulatory requirements. Industry projections indicate that the APJ IAM market could more than double by 2030, highlighting the growing importance of identity security in enterprise IT strategies.

Commenting on his appointment, Wedande emphasized that identity has become central to business resilience and innovation. He added that as organizations accelerate AI-led transformation, modernizing identity as a strategic control plane will be critical for enhancing security, enabling faster innovation, and delivering tangible business value.

With this leadership move, Saviynt aims to expand its footprint in the APJ region and support enterprises in navigating evolving cybersecurity challenges with robust identity-first strategies.
